On Tuesday 19th December, LSBU Active hosted an end of term Sports Day for local primary schools neighbouring our Southwark Campus as part of our Day10 Project. It was a fantastic celebration of sport and community cohesion in the build up to schools finishing for Christmas.

What’s Day10 Project? This is a scheme to support South Bank University Academy secondary school students learn outside of the classroom, showcasing extra-curricular activities by learning the theoretical and practical concepts of sports coaching, with the vision to lead their own sessions to primary school pupils after a 6-week programme designed by LSBU Sports Ambassadors.

LSBU Active hopes that engaging in the local school sports network can transform our students and local organisations to pursue the many avenues in sport and to show them what life is like at a university. LSBU Students have taken lead delivering this project working as Sports Ambassadors, with the objective of developing a highly engaged workforce to support their aspirations with professional experience and achieving a graduate level job.
