At LSBU Active, London South Bank University, March 2026 didn’t just get people moving; it brought people together for something bigger.

From 10–27 March, students, staff, community members, and corporate partners all came together for one purpose: to turn everyday physical activity into meaningful global impact. This means every bit of activity counted, whether it was a gym session, a fitness class, or just getting outside for a walk. And thanks to the Technogym ecosystem, every 2,000 MOVEs tracked meant a meal for a child in need.

What made it special wasn’t just the cause; it was the atmosphere. The gym floor, classes, and outdoor spaces were filled with people of all abilities getting involved in their own way. And the bright yellow campaign t-shirts became a symbol of belonging, positivity, and purpose.

By the end of the challenge:

  • 74 people had taken part
  • 210 meals were donated to the UN World Food Programme

Each MOVE tracked through the LSBU Active App became part of a shared story — one where fitness met compassion.

What made LSBU Active’s contribution truly special was the people behind the movement.

Among them were Rodney and Nicola, a couple from the local community, whose participation perfectly captured the spirit of inclusivity and determination:

The MOVEs challenge was fun to do as it had a purpose other than doing it for yourself. It gave us a motive and a clear goal.
For us, 2000 moves were a two-day achievement. It was harder for Rodney, naturally, but he still enjoyed himself.

The campaign also inspired LSBU students, including Olivia Pol-Bodetto, a final-year MSc Physiotherapy student, who reflected on the impact of taking part:

Turning our energy into something that genuinely helps others was such an amazing feeling — I’m so proud to have been part of it!

LSBU Active’s contribution formed part of a truly global achievement.

Globally, the Let’s Move & Donate Food 2026 campaign achieved some incredible things:

  • 1.1 billion MOVEs collected worldwide
  • 552,797 meals donated globally
  • 151,191 participants across 141 countries

There is even more good news: the UK came out on top worldwide, contributing over 221 million MOVEs and helping deliver 110,756 meals. A huge achievement that LSBU Active played a part in.

This campaign showed that fitness doesn’t have to be just about personal goals or routines. It can be about people doing something good together.

A huge thank you and congratulations from LSBU Active to every single participant who took part and supported the Let’s Move & Donate Food 2026 challenge.

Your energy, commitment, and community spirit made this initiative a true success. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved as a community.
