LSBU Active is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement as Sport Scholar Karmen Bruus claimed Silver in the High Jump at the prestigious BUCS Nationals.
Facing the very best university athletes in the country, Karmen produced a superb performance, clearing 1.84m in a highly competitive final. In a closely fought contest, she narrowly missed out on gold to her training group partner, who was representing Loughborough University, in what was one of the standout events of the championships.
It was also fantastic to have her coach, Gasper Epro, who is also an LSBU lecturer, supporting her during the final.

This Silver medal is a testament to Karmen’s dedication, consistency and composure on the national stage. Delivering a jump of 1.84m at this level reflects the commitment and preparation taking place behind the scenes.
Her season continues to gather momentum, with Karmen set to return home to Estonia in two weeks’ time to defend her Estonian National title, where she also proudly holds the national record. We wish her the very best as she looks to build on an already exceptional year.
